I have had a passion for reading, writing, and rhyming for as long as I can remember. Maybe it was heartfelt couplets my dad dropped in my birthday cards. Maybe it was the eloquent letters from my mom helping guide me through different life stages. Maybe it was just the way that words on a page transported me to new inspiring places and expanded my world and my thinking. Regardless, I've been a words junkie for as long as I could make them out.
Growing up a small girl in a big world, I found that harnessing my words and lifting my voice through questions and ideas made the world much less intimidating — and much more conquerable.
From my earliest days writing limericks and haiku in spiral-bound notebooks, to angsty, introspective teenage journaling, to scribbled perspectives on Communications and Sociology at Penn State, I never let my pen, my imagination, or my ideas remain silent for long.
Now a full-time communications counselor, marketer, wife, and mother, I am happily situated in sunny San Diego with my retired U.S. Navy husband, my cute, creative and curious daughters, and our sweet fur baby Bogey.
Ever a Philly girl at heart (Go Birds!), my attitude and my stories reflect my East Coast-West Coast upbringing. I believe deeply in the power of authenticity and I use my storytelling to promote the attributes I value most: curiosity, kindness, courage, hard work, respect, individuality, and loyalty.
With a relentlessly inquisitive five-year-old and a bright-eyed baby girl, I am proud to be the Chief Storyteller in our home, and I don't plan on relinquishing that title any time soon. I will continue to craft stories that light up their eyes and imaginations well beyond the day they stop asking, and I will forever be grateful for the privilege and the opportunity.
